Heat Therapy

The concept of Hot and Cold Therapy has been around for a long time. On the hot side of things, evidence of cave saunas dating back to 2000 BC has been found, however, their use would have been more for surviving freezing temperatures than just relaxation. Saunas these days are usually associated with Finland. Despite a population of just over 5.5 million people, Finland has an impressive 2 million saunas to share between them  (which is an impressive ratio!)  while ‘Finnish saunas’ are now found in gyms and spas almost everywhere on Earth.

Cold Therapy

Now the cold side: Ice baths have most likely been around for much longer as no special structure is needed – all it takes is a winter dip in a frozen lake or flowing river. Running hot water is a relatively new luxury on the scale of things, only becoming available to the public within the past two hundred years – bathing in cold water would have been the only option for most up until this point. The Edwin Smith Surgical Papyrus is one of the oldest surviving medical texts, and was created around 1600 B.C – this text made numerous references to the use of cold as therapy.

Steel Cold Plunge Ice Baths

Manufactured in Nebraska USA. These steel ice baths are manufactured to the highest standards and provide the perfect ice bath or plunge pool and can be used inside our outdoors.

Made from made from 0.91mm (20GA) G90 steel.

These tanks feature 4 ply locked seams with contained sealant. The top contains a 22mm (0.875in) steel pipe rolled into the top edge to create a smooth crush-proof finish. The tanks also have a 19mm (0.75in) zinc coated, threaded plug assembly to enable the tank to be drained.

The steel round bath is available in 3 different sizes.

Stock tanks are primarily made for commercial livestock use, and due to their agricultural nature they may have imperfections such as small dents and scratches. Any such marks will in no way affect the durability of the tanks and should be viewed in the context of their agricultural origins. The size of the tanks may vary up to 10cm from the specified dimensions.
